The edifice was originally Muhammad's house; he settled there after his Hijrah (emigration) to Medina, later building a mosque on the grounds. He himself shared in the heavy work of construction. The original mosque was an open-air building. The basic plan of the building has been adopted in the building of other mosques throughout the world.
The mosque also served as a community center, a court, and a religious school. There was a raised platform for the people who taught the Qur'an. |

when i first stepped inside the masjid, i was taken aback by how BIG the building is. seriously. seluas mata memandang. tengok kiri kanan, sepanjang2 hujung dunia baru nampak dinding. and i noticed that people who go there will offer their salam to Rasulullah before taking the steps into the prayer hall "Assalamu 'alaikum ya Rasulullah".. makes sense, it is his home we're entering right? hehe. and the huge umbrella-like canopies are wicked cool!! open-air but still inside the masjid. subhanallah! and alhamdu Lillah, dapat dok kat Raudhah, even sekejap je pon but worth it 
being there made me realize how much Rasulullah sacrificed for his ummah, and how high we should look up to him. the epitome of all guru and leaders in this world. he transcends history and knowledge.

so i'll be dividing the entries into several parts.. ikut urutan lah kot, snang sket nak browse thru kan2. enjoi!!
p/s: now i understand why people say "kalau dah pergi makkah tu rase cam tanak balik je dah" |
we were supposed to depart at 5pm, but delay cam hape.. last2 gerak kol 3am! i slept on the waiting lounge floor. kat malaysia lagi tuh! haha stranded in my own country
